Covenant

Our Church Covenant

Having been led by the Spirit of God to receive Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior, and having been baptized in His name and confessing our faith in Him before men, we now, in the presence of God and this assembly, solemnly and joyfully enter into covenant with one another as one body in Christ.

We therefore covenant together:

  1. To walk in Christian love—striving to keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace, bearing one another’s burdens, and exercising compassion, forgiveness, and grace as Christ has shown to us (John 13:34–35; Ephesians 4:2–3).
  2. To be faithful in worship and devotion—committing ourselves to prayer, the study of God’s Word, and the breaking of bread together, that we may grow in grace and holiness (Acts 2:42; 2 Timothy 2:15).
  3. To live set apart unto God—denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, and walking in holiness as a testimony of the transforming power of the Gospel (Romans 12:1–2; Titus 2:11–12; 1 Peter 1:15–16).
  4. To support the ministry of the Church—through our time, talents, spiritual gifts, and tithes, so that the mission of Christ may be carried forward in this generation and the next (Malachi 3:10; 1 Corinthians 12:4–7).
  5. To watch over one another in love—praying for one another, encouraging one another, and, when necessary, restoring one another in the spirit of meekness and humility (Galatians 6:1–2; James 5:16).
  6. To seek the salvation of the lost—living as witnesses of Christ’s redeeming power, sharing the Gospel faithfully at home and abroad, and laboring together in the Last Days harvest of souls (Matthew 28:19–20; Romans 1:16).
  7. To be ready for our Lord’s return—keeping our hearts pure, our lamps filled with oil, and our lives faithful, as we await the glorious appearing of our Savior, Jesus Christ (Matthew 25:1–13; Titus 2:13).

With God’s help and by His grace, we joyfully bind ourselves to this covenant, trusting in the power of the Holy Spirit to enable us to remain faithful until Christ returns in glory.
